We understand that it is now proposed to abandon

this project and revert to a site on the reclamation which

had been originally proposed and discarded. The reass

given for the abandonment of the site between Robinson (Nathar)

Road and DesVoeux Road (now known as Chatham Road) appear

to shortly be as follows:-

(a) supposed insufficient length for fanning out,

necessitating the acquisition of M.L. 10.

(b) That valuable land on reclamation would be wasted

owing to the curvas of the railway, and that some cost would

be incurred in outting book * Signal Hill to accommodate

the curve of the approach lines.

(0) That trains would not be brought alongside (ferry.

(4) Some apprehensive difficulty of signalling in

consequence of the curve approaching the station.

(*) That there would be a crossing of a new frerway in

Robinson (Nathan) Road
